Apartments – Beaconsfield Road – Kent England
A development of 67 contemporary luxury apartments on the banks of the River Medway in Maidstone, Kent for Kimberley Developments. The site is in a secluded setting with mature trees lining both banks of the river within the heart of Maidstone.
A major design consideration was the risk of flooding as almost all of the site is situated within the 1:100 year flood plain. Negotiations with the Environment Agency led to the scheme being raised above the flood level and the provision of under-croft parking. The under-croft serves as extra water capacity in a major flood event.
